Projectors Are Invited for Who They Are

09/22/2024

I was invited to be part of a video interview project about our town. This invitation was a real Projector eye-opener because it added an extra dimension to the concept that invitations come to Projectors because of who we are rather than what we do.

For a while now, I've held a desire to participate in an art exhibition. I've been honing my painting skills as I work toward developing a body of work. This is what most people "do" to be exhibition-ready. Meanwhile, in daily life, I've been showing up for experiences that light me up and, in general, I've just been enjoying the heck out of my life and community. So along comes this invitation to be interviewed for this project. It wasn't until I received the notification of the "art opening" that it struck me. It's not so much what a Projector does that gets recognized. It's more about how a Projector is being. At that moment I realized there's more than one way to participate in an art exhibit. Most people participate by doing art. Others are invited to be the art!

People recognize us, dear Projectors, by our light and how it draws them in. Are you being true to your light? Are you shining it fully through your heart? Waiting for invitations doesn't mean waiting idly by in bitterness, trying to do more and more to be seen. It means being fully engaged in the version of life that fulfills your soul while taking good care of your delicate body. It means immersing yourself in what is most nourishing and brings you the most joy. It means being open to the understanding that the invitation you "think" you want may come in unexpected ways that don't require the type of "work" most people do.

I hope you enjoy this short clip of me sitting in my orchard where much of my 58/18 joy and perfecting happens, while my 64/47 defined head and Ajna are invited to ramble and make sense of life here in my community.
